Yesterday, I was at a customer site and we spent a few hours trying to get video from a SunFire x4100, even without an operating system. It had AMI BIOS and we could see the video during the initial boot, but after some time, the screen got all weird and started flashing randomly. We tried DCIM-USBG2. D2CIM-VUSB and D2CIM-DVUSB. No change. I mentioned that "Something has to be changing" during the boot process. If we connected the monitor directly, it was fine, but not through the DKX2-216. Even the Remote IP connection was flashing. After saying "something must be changing" a few more times, I was told they were using the PXE boot option on the NIC. This NIC was a quad with NET0 and NET1 using NVidia PXE and NET2 and NET3 using Intel PXE. When we switched to the Intel PXE ROM, everything was right with the world.
